USDOC

WHO WE ARE
An agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service (US&FCS) promotes the export of U.S.-origin commodities, services and technologies in foreign markets and defends U.S. commercial interests abroad.  The US&FCS has offices in 84 foreign countries and 105 domestic locations, called U.S. Export Assistance Centers.

QUALIFICATIONS
To qualify for assistance from the US&FCS, a company must be either organized under the laws of the United States or at least 95% U.S. owned.  In addition, at least 51% of the commodity, service or technology in question must be of U.S.-origin.  (Please note, the US&FCS does not work with imports into the United States.)

OUR SERVICES
The U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service provide services in five areas.
  • Business Counseling Related to Exporting U.S.-origin commodities, services and technologies
  • Market Research
  • Partner Identification and Qualification
  • Trade Events
  • Commercial Advocacy
The US&FCS is under a cost recovery requirement, meaning that there is a schedule of fees for the provision of any product or service that is not inherently governmental in nature.  The US&FCS also offers fully customized business facilitation services, market research and promotional services, the cost of which depends on the scope of work negotiated between the client and the US&FCS.
